What would be the growth curve for eco-friendly décor in tier 2 and tier 3 cities?

Everyone recalls the credit scenes in the 2008 animated science fiction film WALL- E, where humans and robots step out of their ship and learn to plant and build, transforming the ruined earth into a paradise. WALL-E tells the tale of a generation that returns to their home in search of new life.

In the 21st century, India is faced with a similar situation. Many millennials are moving back home after living in the metro cities for a few years. Tier 2 and tier 3 cities are emerging as market spaces for business hubs in India, opening up employment opportunities. Smaller towns are fast catching up with the metros in terms of accessibility and quality of life thanks to technological advances. The new accessibility of coworking spaces in smaller cities makes startups even more comfortable to operate without a high initial investment. With the rise of e-commerce, it has become easier than ever to enjoy a higher standard of living. It has become easy and hassles free to purchase items that can enhance the beauty and ambience of homes and office places.

An increase in the green movement has paved the way for environmentally friendly items that can be integrated into the design. With an increase in nature-inspired designs, there has been significant growth in the purchase of eco-friendly decorations. Decorating a home is stressful enough without taking into account the environment, but in the long run, it would be more advantageous to choose eco-friendly décor. Green home decorating options will help reduce carbon footprint and save some money in the long run.

Connecting People With Nature:

Efficient urban design is the task of designing and preparing the outline of cities in such a way that they have a low carbon footprint, improved air quality, more sustainable energy sources and a balanced relationship with the environment. Sustainable design can be achieved easily in a few ways. Incorporating eco-friendly decor into the interior of homes and office spaces can have tremendous health and productivity implications. Buying pre-used decor is the simplest way to have a good effect on the environment.

Currently, around 960 million tons of solid waste is being generated annually in India. Experts believe this problem can be addressed with the reuse of old interior decor. Nonetheless, antique furniture is trendy and costs much less than purchasing new. If you are painting your walls or repurposing a piece of furniture, it matters what kind of paint you choose. Eco-friendly paints are free from volatile organic compounds, or "VOCs," which can be hazardous to both the environment and humans. Just a simple thermal coating will significantly reduce the amount of hot or cold air passing through the walls. The thermal lining will also save money on electricity bills and makes space more comfortable. A well-cared-for houseplant can give renewed life to any area. Houseplants are a less-expensive decoration that adds a natural, fresh accent and can combat pollutants and chemicals produced from human-made materials.

Bridging The Gap Between Interior And Its Surroundings:

Economic growth in India has been broadly on an accelerating path, which is likely to be the fastest-growing major economy in the world. It is logical to expect that in the future years, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities are going to lead the FinTech industry. To retain millennial workers in smaller towns, offices need to look and sound as comfortable as those in metro cities. Wellness and work satisfaction are two highly significant factors everywhere for millennials.

Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, a masterpiece renowned for its alignment with its natural environment, has inspired architects around the world to create a design that is entirely influenced by nature. How does a system like this affect us? One response is that specific structures have biophilic design attributes. That is, they fulfil our inherent desire to be associated with nature, developed over centuries. Architects and urban designers are planning the best approaches to renature a city. Many people claim that there is an innate beauty in biophilia. This is why building architecture is designed such that people feel connected to nature and are always surrounded by well-kept lawns.

Researchers have observed people recovering quicker, staff becoming more successful, and children learning better when there are more elements of nature. New evidence indicates that the office plant can help minimize the boredom and confusion that occurs through many workspaces. Besides, all of these factors lead to the growth of eco-friendly decor and its acceptance in millennials' lives.

Promotion of Eco-friendly Interior Design:

Most people find the cost of any design before taking into account its environmental impacts. Therefore, pitching concepts and suggestions for environmentally friendly projects are becoming more sophisticated by emphasizing the economic benefits they offer to us. The Sustainability Forum was established by the Commercial Interior Design Association (IIDA) to inspire, help and inform the design community and the public about sustainability. The Athena Sustainable Materials Institute ensures that smaller footprints are created by partnering with sustainability leaders in the development and use of materials in different ways. Building Green, one of the most trusted voices for environmental and safe design, provides a range of opportunities to immerse deeply in sustainability.

The task of integrating sustainable interior design into every area of life is slowly becoming a reality. Most beings have learned to adapt to changes in their environment right from the beginning of civilization. Man is coming close to nature, with interior designs that imitate its essence. Now, to fulfil their desires, one does not need to travel to a larger city. The shift of population and offices to smaller cities has not only been promising for the design architecture but also for eco-friendly decor. This is not the time to go back, but to go forward to nature. Even in the most unexpected locations, one can expect to find the most unforgettable and unique decorations.
